Peter read chemistry at the University of Milan (Italy) under Prof. Cesare M. A. Gennari and later moved to Bavaria for a M.Sc. in Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis at the University of Regensburg (Germany), working on visible-light photocatalysis with Prof. Burkhard König. After a year in industry placement at the pRED division of Hoffmann−La Roche in Basel, working on novel rigid saturated arene isosteres (bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes), he received his doctoral degree under the guidance of Prof. Frank Glorius, conducting research on visible light catalyzed cross-couplings and NHCs on surfaces. He completed his postdoctoral training as Walter Benjamin fellow at Weill Cornell Medicine, working in chemical biology and MS-MS proteomics. When outside of the lab, Peter is an avid reader, baseball/basketball aficionado, and enjoys a night at Carnegie Hall/Metropolitan/Village Vanguard.
